One of the ways we seek to equip our body for more healthy life together is by highlighting God’s complementary design for the family (Deuteronomy 6:1-9) and the Church (Ephesians 2:1-16). We think that segregating age-groups may hinder that purpose. Proverbs 13:20 says, “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” That means young people remain as they are if they spend most time with other young people.
The Bible has a beautiful cross-generational vision for discipleship and fellowship (Titus 2:1-10).For this reason, your Elders are thrilled to incorporate two opportunities each month for our Church family to gather and fellowship cross-generationally. Some of these gatherings will be designed for fun. Others will be intended for worship. Still others might be oriented arounds service. This way, our men learn to disciple boys and young men, and women learn to disciple girls and young women. Equally, young men and women learn to become men and women.
