Leadership at Sovereign Hope

Christ is “the authority” of the church (Matt. 23:8-10). The Bible clearly teaches that, under Christ, the local church should be "ruled" by a plurality of elders (1 Timothy 5:17; Acts 15:2, 4, 6, 22, 23; 20:17, 28; 21:18; Philippians 1:1; Titus 1:5; James 5:14; 1 Peter 5:1-2). Many synonyms are used to refer to elders, such as "shepherds", "pastors" and "overseers". But, these terms must not be mistaken as referring to different offices (Titus 1:5-9; Heb. 13:7, 17). This group of men who satisfy the Biblical qualifications (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9) are meant to lead the church as one.

Sovereign Hope's leaders seek to shepherd this local flock spiritually by Knowing, Feeding, Leading and Protecting those entrusted to their care. Above all else, these men strive to find their satisfaction in God as they encourage those they lead to do the same.
